1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account and using Shinshin-AI, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Service Description

Shinshin-AI provides AI-powered receipt storage and management designed to assist with Japan's 電子帳簿保存法 (Electronic Bookkeeping Act) compliance. The service is currently in beta. Features and limits may change.

3. Usage Limits

During the free beta period, each account is subject to daily upload limits. Limits are determined by your account role and may be adjusted over time. Automated or bulk uploads that circumvent these limits are prohibited.

4. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you upload. Do not upload receipts or documents belonging to others without authorization. Do not use the service for fraudulent expense claims or tax evasion. Keep your account credentials secure.

5. AI Accuracy Disclaimer

AI-extracted data (amounts, dates, vendor names) may contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing and confirming all extracted data before relying on it for tax or accounting purposes. Shinshin-AI is not liable for errors in AI-extracted data.

6. No Professional Advice

This service does not constitute professional tax, accounting, or legal advice. It is a software tool to assist with record-keeping and 電子帳簿保存法 compliance. It does not guarantee compliance with any specific tax law interpretation. For questions about your tax obligations, consult a certified tax accountant (税理士) or other qualified professional. Any data extracted or summaries generated by the service are for reference only.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data for a minimum of 7 years as required by Japan's 電子帳簿保存法. When you close your account, your data will remain available for export for 30 days; after this window, all personal data and receipt records will be permanently deleted except where retention is legally required. If the service is discontinued, we will provide at least 90 days' notice.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time from the application settings or by contacting contact@shinshin-ai.com.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance. Significant changes will be communicated via the application or by email.

10. Liability Limitation

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the fees you paid in the most recent calendar month, or JPY 1,000, whichever is greater. We exclude all liability for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages. These limitations do not apply in cases of our willful misconduct or gross negligence (故意または重大な過失).

11. Force Majeure

We are not liable for any failure or delay in providing the service caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, acts of government, pandemics, power failures, internet infrastructure failures, or outages at third-party cloud providers. We will make reasonable efforts to restore service as quickly as possible.

12. Third-party Services

The service uses third-party providers for authentication (Google, Microsoft, LINE), infrastructure (cloud hosting, Cloudflare CDN), and AI processing. We are not responsible for outages, data breaches, service changes, or policy changes at these providers. Your use of authentication providers is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.
